Lazy Summer Days

I LOVE the summer and am so sad that it is so short now. Whatever happened to 3 months off school? 8 weeks is going to fly by. Owen and I are having a great time being home together. It is so nice not having anywhere that I HAVE to be for awhile. We haven't really done anything exciting so here are a few random pictures to share...

This is the best I could do to get a picture of Buffett and Owen together. Buffett is TERRIFIED of Owen and will not go near him. This is a good thing I am sure. He stayed this close to Owen long enough for me to snap the picture then took off.

First Week Home with Mommy

I have REALLY enjoyed being home with Owen all week. Dont get me wrong, I love my job, but it is so nice to have some time off with him. We have had a busy week playing but I haven't really taken a lot of pictures. He went to a nursery for the first time (our gym) and did great. I was expecting them to have to come get me but he slept most of the time and gave me a full hour to workout!

Sunday in Selma

On Sunday we took Owen to Selma to see Grammy and Gramps. He did great in the car going but got pretty restless coming back. I think Kevin finally got to see why I keep saying Owen doesn't love his car seat as much as he used to! We had a great time and enjoyed seeing Kevin's family.

He is about to take his nap in his cousin's (pink!!) pack'n'play. He is swaddled in the Miracle Blanket recommended to me by my friend April. It has been a lifesaver and I highly recommend it to new moms!

Kevin's cousin Lance and his wife had their baby girl Taylor Elizabeth on May 16th. We cannot wait to meet her!

Fun Weekend

Shelley and Ross came to visit Owen Saturday night and he LOVED them! We had a great time and Owen played so hard he slept all the way until 5 AM! They are both such a huge part of our life and we were so glad they made the trip down (even in the pouring rain) to spend time with us. This is my last week at work and I am so excited to be home with Owen all summer! Friday, we are going to Birmingham to watch Ashley try on wedding dresses. It is going to be so much fun but of course I won't be able to post any pics of that until March. I just hope Owen will behave like the little angel he is!

As promised, here is a picture of Tucker and Ashley celebrating their engagement on Mother's Day! We are so excited to have Ashley joining our family and can't wait until March 27th!

On another fun note, Tuscaloosa finally got a Sips 'n' Strokes and we took advantage of it last week. Mom and I joined some of my friends for a fun night of painting. We had so much fun creating our masterpieces. Unfortunately for me, my cousin Kristina got the art talent in our family, but it was still a fun experience!

Owen will be 11 weeks on Thursday! He is still having some days where he shows definite colic symptoms, but should be outgrowing those in a week or two. Overall, he is sleeping very well and eating well too.

He is really perfecting his pout when he is upset :)

Mother's Day

As I predicted, I am not very good at updating the blog now that I am back at work. Hopefully, I will be better this summer when school is out! We had a GREAT Mother's Day celebration. We had brunch at one of my favorite restaurants then spent a relaxing day at home. Uncle Tucker and Aunt Ashley came down yesterday afternoon to share some EXCITING news with us....they're engaged!!! Everyone was in on the secret except my Mom and I- so it was a fun surprise for us. We are so excited and can't wait for Ashley to be an "official" member of our family.

Back at Work

I went back to work this past Monday and it wasnt as bad as I expected. It was hard to leave but I knew he was in great hands. I only have about a month left of school and then I will be out for the summer (17 days but who is counting?) It was nice to get back and see the teachers and my 17 four year olds. They were very excited to hear about baby Owen and see "that he isn't in my tummy anymore". Gigi is staying with us for the month of May to keep Owen. As you can see from the pictures, he is having a great time! (I think Gigi is too!) We are so lucky to have her come and stay- it made going back to work so much easier for me! It is also nice to have the extra help around in the evenings while I am trying to get things done. :)
